12/11/2023: Five Corners Redesign Project Update

Our contractor will begin work today by setting up two signal poles and pedestrian poles. He will set one pole at a time and limit disturbance to pedestrians, parking, and vehicular traffic. As the project progresses, the most significant interruptions will be the short time spans when the mast arms are mounted for each signal pole. Site restoration work to finalize the areas disturbed during the removal of the old equipment will occur after the new year. In the meantime, we will ensure that the areas are safe for pedestrians and that entrances to businesses closest to the intersection and work sites are easy to access.
 
The work is scheduled during weekdays from 7am to 4pm, and we are coordinating with the contractor to ensure that the most disruptive work occurs during the hours that will have the least impact on businesses.
 
Once complete, the new intersection will greatly improve traffic flow and walkability, providing significant benefits for businesses and residents. That said, we recognize that this timing strains businesses during the busiest season of the year. We apologize for the stress and inconvenience this poses.
