Civilian Police Complaint Review Board

The Civilian Police Complaint Review Board (“CPCRB”) was created to promote public confidence in the ability of the Village of Ossining to provide a governmental structure to fairly investigate, review and dispose of civilian complaints made against its police officers, giving due regard for the rights and interests of both the civilians and police officers involved. 

Term of Office 2 years

Membership/Appointment 7 members are selected by the Board of Trustees. 2 members are selected by the Police Chief (1 line officer and 1 supervisor). For each category of members, there should be one alternate. All civilian members of the CPCRB must be Village residents, be at least 18 years old, sign a confidentiality agreement, agree to a fingerprint check and comply with all training requirements. Under Local Law 9-2017, Board of Trustees to appoint five members without a nominating committee with members to serve no more than two consecutive terms and must have 75% attendance.
