Two Developers Invited to Present to Ossining Residents

Community Preservation Company, Ginsberg to Present at May 30 Work Session

(May 23, 2006)   CPC Resources Inc, a subsidiary of the Community Preservation Corporation, and Ginsberg Development Corporation (GDC) have been invited to present their development ideas for the three village-owned sites that were subject of a recent Request for Qualifications (RFQ).  The two companies will make their presentations to the public at the May 30 work session to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center, 95 Broadway, Ossining.

The sites proposed for development are the “We Can Do It” parcel on Main Street, which has stood empty since a fire destroyed Kipp’s Pharmacy and other buildings in 1995, the parcel at 7 North Water Street, and the former Department of Public Works garage, also on Water Street. Last month, seven developers who had responded to the RFQ presented their proposals at an all-day public meeting.  The Village Board has asked GDC and CPC to make additional presentations.

A Request for Qualifications differs from a Request for Proposals in that the respondents submit more general ideas for the site in question.  However they must provide detailed information about their organizations including their ability to execute projects and relevant financial data.  Proposals for specific projects are at the preliminary stages and are subject to change. Projects will go through the entire planning, zoning and SEQRA process.

The public is invited to attend the presentations and to comment about the proposals.
