What: Tie a ribbon to your doorknob or put a post-it on your steering wheel – Sharper Service knife sharpening is back at the Ossining Farmers Market on Saturday, so don’t forget your kitchen blades, scissors and garden tools. Master Gardener Mary Patrzalek will also be back with Sue Drouin to give a rain barrel demonstration and we’ll have the Environmental Committee of NYCD-16 and New York State of Health will be at our Community Tables. Gerry Malkin Collective with Featured Guest Artist Trumpet Player Ingrid Jensen Perform ‘Post Bebop’ Sound
What: Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will continue its highly touted Jazz Masters series with the Gerry Malkin Collective, renowned artists who have been called a “quintessential… group that plays top-notch music” with pedigrees that “run deep in the jazz hierarchy.” This performance will feature guest artist Ingrid Jensen on trumpet, an Ossining resident and internationally renowned musician. Led by Malkin on tenor sax, the distinctive post bebop sound of the Collective interprets music of the classic era of mid-twentieth century jazz, from Miles Davis to John Coltrane.

Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) Acting Classes Summer Semester Scene and Monologue Study begins soon!
What: Scene and Monologue Study, a deeper study of the craft of acting designed for intermediate and advanced actors, is taught by actor and director Bob Rogerson. Rogerson, who holds a master’s degree in classical acting, has taught at university and professional levels for many years. His popular classes offer tailored individuated instruction, addressing specific issues based on each actor’s strengths and needs. He uses an eclectic mix of teaching methods drawing from Stanislavski, Meisner, and Strasberg as well as voice and ear training and movement.

Summer Evening Cruise on the Hudson River
What: Enjoy a summer evening aboard the “Evening Star” for a 3-hour sightseeing cruise on the Hudson River. You’ll cruise through the Hudson Highlands, past Jones Pt., Iona Island, Bear Mountain, Fort Montgomery, West Point and Worlds End. The cruise includes a historical commentary and a live musical performance by Endless Field, a collaborative instrumental guitar and bass duo. When Muppets Come Alive
What: This play for ages 5 – 7, will be an original production, Jessica & Andrew Irons will write a play specifically for the participants! Muppets we know and don't, from all across pop culture, will come alive in this play with music.

From Garden to Table, a Free Program at Jug Tavern
What: The Jug Tavern of Sparta welcomes back Peter G. Rose, author and food historian, who will present From Garden to Table, a talk about the garden-to-table practices of Hudson Valley Dutch settlers based on her research and a 17th-century book that features a calendar for gardening activities and a cookbook for using garden produce to its best advantage. Admission is free but space is limited.

Ossining’s Museum in the Streets (MITS)

What: MITS is a free, self-guided walking tour and consists of 25 numbered panels with images and explanatory text about the architecturally and historically significant buildings within the Downtown Ossining Historic District. 
When: On a 24/7 basis
Where: The tour starting point is located on the north side of the Ossining Open Door Medical Center at 247 Main St. in Downtown Ossining. However visitors one can also begin at any of the numbered panels and take as few or as many panels as desired.

Briarcliff Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
What: This group of high school students makes fun events happen for their peers at the public library and take part in everything from brainstorming, to planning, to advertising, to setting up and finally to enjoying the great event! Also help us serve you and your peers better by recommending what you think we should have at the library. We are always open to any new projects that you think TAB and the library should take on so that the library is a welcoming place for high school students. Meetings are held at the library on the first Sunday of the month from 4 - 5 PM. Shorter meetings are held on Thursdays after school in the cafeteria at Briarcliff High School. You do not need to attend all meetings to be a member. Come to what you can and let your voice be heard!

The district is seeking bilingual English-Spanish volunteers to serve as translators at district and school events. These events include but are not limited to, parent-teacher conferences, parent engagement nights and college fairs. What:  The Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) set scriptures and sacred phrases from the world’s spiritual traditions to music and movement. The Dances evoke a unified experience of movement, sound, breath, and sacred phrase. No musical or dance experience of any kind is required and everyone is encouraged to join in.

What: Volunteers for a hospitality program at the Sing Sing Correctional facility that is held
When: Saturdays, Sundays, and most major holidays; from 8am to 11 am or 12pm to 2:30pm.

Info: Our organization provides hospitality to the visitors who come to visit their loved ones. We also provide toys, puzzles, and games to the people in the facility to help normalize the visiting time.

Meet characters of five old testament stories at BCC Vacation Bible School
What:  Interactive morning Bible camp Ages 5-10 yrs
When: August 20th- 24th  8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where:  Briarcliff Congregational Church- Parish Hall, 30 So. State Rd., Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510 (corner of Pleasantville/So State and Elm Rds)
Info: This program will take your children on a different adventure each day where they will hear stories and meet characters from five Old Testament stories. This program will be fun and interactive. There will be singing, arts and crafts, cartoons, and games. It will be run by Rev. Todd Farnsworth and the staff and volunteers of BCC. While this program is for 5-10 yr olds, older children may attend as 'no fee' volunteer counselors. This program is open to the community so bring a friend! Both breakfast and a snack will be served each day. Cost is $20 per child with a max of $40 per family. Scholarships available.
