Ossining Village Board Appoints Michael Curry

(January 11, 2007) Michael Curry, president and partner of The Curry Rockefeller Group, an independent healthcare communications agency based in Tarrytown, New York, is a product of the Ossining public school system and was graduated from Ossining High School in 1978. 

 

Mr. Curry continued his education after leaving Ossining, receiving a BA from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, in 1982, and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in 1984.  Mr. Curry returned to Ossining to live in 1991.

 

Prior to founding The Curry Rockefeller Group in 2001, Mr. Curry was a marketing executive with Pfizer Inc.

 

Mr. Curry’s family has an extensive history in Ossining.  Both of his parents, Robert L. Curry and Linda J. (Barger) Volkhardt, and numerous other family members, including several aunts and uncles, are also graduates of Ossining High School.  Mr. Curry’s grandparents worked at several local businesses, including the Hudson Wire Company.  Other family relatives have resided in Ossining since the 19thcentury.

 

Mr. Curry is active in the Ossining Community and serves as a member of the Foundation Board of the Open Door Family Medical Center, based in Ossining.  Mr. Curry has previously served as president of the New York City chapter of the American Diabetes Association and remains active in numerous healthcare initiatives. 

 

Mr. Curry’s wife, the former Margaret Hogan Kelly, is a member of the board of the Ossining Children’s Center and recently served as chair of the Center’s successful Thanksgiving Harvest Luncheon.  The Currys are members of the Church of St. John and St. Mary, in Chappaqua, New York.  Mr. Curry is also a member of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club, Trout Unlimited, and the New York Thoroughbred Racing Association.
