OSSINING NEWS 12-07-2007

Metro North will begin major train station refurbishment projects at the Ossining and Scarborough stations in January 2008.  In Ossining, the $20 million project will include new canopies, construction of new enclosed staircases, addition of 4 ADA compliant elevators, new shelters, platforms and cosmetic improvements, including artwork from the Arts in Transit project.  The project is slated to have major construction completed over the course of 30 months, with no interruption in service.  You may have seen some of the station improvements that have already been completed in communities “down the line” from our station.  The improvement plans take into consideration the historic character of our station and will improve and enhance the structure.  More information about the process will be available at Village Hall, at the Ossining train station, and through ongoing Metro North communication.
