Pool Grand Opening Celebrate with us the official grand opening of the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center Aquatics Facility, Saturday, March 10th at 12:00 noon, 95 Broadway.  There will be swimming, snacks and drinks, please join us and be part of the fun.

 

Increased Parking at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center In connection with the construction of the new Aquatics facility a new parking lot was constructed at the Community Center.  The Board adopted a new local law with regard to parking at and around the Community Center.  This new law helps to ensure parking will be available for users of the Community Center.  When parking near the Community Center, please pay particular attention to signage as regulations have changed.

 

March is Red Cross Month The Westchester County American Red Cross is working to raise public awareness, educate and mobilize citizens, schools and business in order to strengthen their mission to provide relief to victims of disasters and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.  The Village will have a flag raising ceremony on Thursday, March 1st at 9:00 a.m. at The Municipal Building, 16 Croton Avenue to kick-off the month.  All are invited to attend.

 

Comprehensive Plan Public Meeting on Infrastructure Re-Scheduled for March 1

 The Comprehensive Plan Committee invites all Ossining residents to participate in a public discussion about Ossining's infrastructure to be held on Thursday, March 1, at 7:30 pm at the Park Early Childhood Center, 22 Edwards St.  Consultants Philips Preiss and Shapiro and Vollmer Associates will present data about existing infrastructure, including roads, water, sewer, and other topics.  Public participation focusing on current and future needs will follow.  Contact the Village Manager at 914-941-3554 with additional questions.

 

Summer Youth Opportunity Fair Seeks Employers.

The Village of Ossining has teamed up with the Town, School District, Library and Communities That Care to create a Summer Youth Opportunities Fair, to be held on March 24, 3-5:30 pm at the Community Center. Employers who can hire one or more Ossining teens for summer positions are encouraged to go to the Village website www.villageofossining.org for more information and an application. Unpaid internships are also welcome.

  

Ice Skating at Veteran’s Park

The pond at Veteran’s Park is open for ice skating.  There will be a recreation attendant on duty and the hours of operation are Monday – Friday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m.

 

Dar Williams in Concert for Ossining MATTERS
Ossining MATTERS, Inc. presents singer/songwriter Dar Williams, in a concert to benefit the education foundation on Saturday, March 24, at the Ossining High School Auditorium, starting at 7 p.m. Students from Ossining High School will also perform.
Tickets are $32/General Admission, $15/Students & Seniors, and $125/Premium. Premium ticket holders are invited to attend a post-concert gala cocktail party and auction at a private club in Ossining. Ossining School/Community Walk Day is scheduled for Friday, May 4.  Special events are being planned for Claremont and AMD and many adult volunteers are needed, especially in the early (6:30-9 am!) hours to help with the walk-to-school.  This project is a community partnership of the school district, town, and village, and many other organizations in the community.  Contact co-chairs Dana Levenberg or Martha Dodge for more information about how to volunteer.  Go to the village website or the school district website for more information.
