NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 5/26/2021 @ 7 PM Regarding CDBG Projects

The Village of Ossining Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. via videoconferencing pursuant to Executive Order 202.1 dated March 12, 2020, extended by Executive Order 202.107 dated May 10, 2021 for the purpose of hearing public comments on the village’s proposed 2022-2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects:

  1. Replacement of the playground in Nelson Sitting Park.
  2. Spring Street streetscape improvements between Broad Street and Lafayette Avenue.
  3. Spring Street streetscape improvements between Lafayette Avenue and the Scarborough Manor entrance.
  4. Replacement of play equipment and trail improvements to the Old Croton Aqueduct at North Malcolm Street.

A summary of the projects in both English and Spanish will be available from the Village Clerk beginning on May 17, 2021.

The CDBG program is administered by the Westchester County Department of Planning will make funds available to local governments for infrastructure improvements, neighborhood expansion and rehabilitation, housing rehabilitation, code enforcement, economic development loans, public service and park rehabilitation, with the principal purpose of benefitting low/moderate income persons.  The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications and/or to provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals.  Comments on the CDBG program or proposed project(s) will be received at this time.  The hearing is being conducted pursuant to section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
