WHY DO WE TAKE THE CENSUS?
The framers of the Constitution of the United States chose population to be the basis for the sharing of political power, not wealth or land.

“Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers…” - The Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 2.

Census2020 aims to count the entire population of our country, and at the community where each person lives.

The census will ask questions of people in homes and group living situations, including how many people live or stay in each home, and the sex, age and race of each person.

The census won't ask for you social security number, bank information, credit card numbers, request money, or ask for a donation. If you suspect fraud , call 800-923-8282 to speak with a local Census Bureau representative. You also can file a report with the FTC at FTC.gov/Complaint. Your reports may help law enforcement agencies launch investigations that could stop imposters and other fraudsters in their tracks.

The goal is to count everyone.
