5/2/20 18 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Business Council of Westchester's 2018 Rising Stars have announced their latest class of outstanding "40 Under 40" business professionals. The prestigious award winners are considered the brightest, most accomplished people under the age of forty who represent various fields in our community.

It is with great pleasure that we congratulate our very own Ossining Police Chief, Kevin Sylvester, for being chosen as a winner of this award for 2018.

As a service industry leader, Chief Sylvester’s desire to help others has had a huge impact on our community. A lifelong resident of Ossining, he has a 15-year tenure in the Ossining Police Department and recently celebrated 20 years of service to the Ossining Fire Department. He is a graduate of Pace University School of Law and is admitted to the NY bar. He currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at Pace University, teaching courses on government and criminal justice. In 2017 the Chief led the Police Department Social Media Team in earning the Best of New York Award for Most Innovative Use of Social Media/Citizen Engagement from the Center from Government Technology.

In his spare time, the Chief enjoys being with his family and training for endurance sports with the Ossining Police Department Triathlon Team. This year, you can find the OPD Tri Team competing at the Sleepy Hollow Triathlon, NYC Triathlon, West Point Triathlon, and Ironman 70.3 Atlantic City. Please join us as we congratulate Chief Kevin Sylvester on this exciting award as well as the other Business Council of Westchester's 2018 Rising Stars, "40 Under 40" business professionals.
