Project Mover

Project MOVER is dedicated to expanding mobility options for the community and bringing e-bikes to Ossining in 2024. The first e-bike program is planned to launch in late Spring 2024 in the Village of Ossining. The programs will eventually expand to neighboring communities through the Electric Micromobility Incubator (EMI) network, including the Town of Ossining and the villages of Croton-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, and Tarrytown.

Project MOVER includes 3 core programs: E-Bike Share, E-Bike Library, and an E-Bike Ownership Pathway Program.

E-Bike ShareE-Bike Share: Rent an e-bike for a short trip and return it to one of several stations located around the Village (Coming to the Village of Ossining in Spring 2024)

Ebike ownershipE-Bike Ownership Pathway Program: Register to purchase a discounted e-bike from a local bike shop.

E-Bike Library

E-Bike Library: Rent an e-bike for an extended period to use as-needed. Project MOVER will focus on rolling out the three programs first in the Village of Ossining before using lessons learned to expand in additional communities. Right now, e-bike hardware and software vendors are being evaluated to best match the needs of the E-Bikeshare program. The selected vendor will be announced soon!

What is the difference between bike share and a bike lending library?
Bike share is intended for short, point-to-point trips, whereas the bike lending library allows users to borrow a bike for longer periods to try them out. Unlike bike share, bike libraries do not typically have many stations for pick-up and drop-off of the bikes.
