Code Board of Appeals

The Village of Ossining is considering significant changes to its code enforcement process.  Among the changes is the establishment of a Code Board of Appeals (“CBA”).  The CBA will have five members appointed by the Village Manager.  Each member will serve without compensation for a term of two years which term can be extended.  The Village’s Building Inspector and/or Assistant Building Inspector will serve as an ex officio  member without a vote.  At least one member of the CBA shall have experience in the construction trades and/or property maintenance.  The CBA will hear appeals from decisions/orders involving the interpretation and/or enforcement of provisions of Chapter 162 (Housing/Property Maintenance and Building Code Administration) and Chapter 95 (Unsafe Buildings and Structures and Demolition Code of the Village of Ossining).
