GIS/Village Mapping Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are a tool allowing a user to visually display, manipulate, and analyze digital mapping data to illustrate spatial relationships between objects in the real world. GIS is utilized by a number of Village departments to complete a variety of useful tasks. Village GIS Data: These zipped files contain mapping data in Google Earth's KML format. Right-click the file and select "Save Link As" and save it to your computer before accessing the zipped contents. You will need to download and install Google Earth to view the data in these files. Once you have Google Earth loaded, click "File" and then "Open" to load the data into your workspace. The following data is available*: **The Tax Parcel Google Earth file contains limited information on Village tax parcels. Please see the Town of Ossining Interactive Tax Parcel tool for additional data.
Additional and more detailed mapping data is also available in ESRI Shapefile file format. This data requires a GIS application to be viewed and is available upon request. Please contact the Planning Department for further information at (914)762-6232.

New York State GIS Data: New York State GIS Clearinghouse The website above contains downloadable GIS data layers for all 62 counties in New York as well as data from state and federal agencies. Digital Orthoimagery is available and can be viewed through an online viewer. You will need a GIS application to access the downloadable data.
