The Planning Board consists of seven members pursuant to Article 7, Sub Section 7-718 of the Village Law; and Section 270-50 and Section 270-57 of the Village Code, each is appointed to a term of five years by the Village Manager. Vacancies are filled by appointment for the remainder of the un-expired term.

Through the authority granted by Chapter 64 of the Consolidated Laws of the State of New York, as amended, all subdivision of land is required to receive the approval of the Ossining Planning Board, and further the Board is authorized to recommend, for review and adoption by the Village Board of Trustees, regulations controlling the subdivision of land within the boundaries of the Village of Ossining.
