Mrs. Geraldo, in her capacity as Director of Section 8 Rental Assistance Program in the Village of Ossining, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program. The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is designed to assist families obtain a decent place to live at a cost which they can afford. Generally, someone who is selected for the program pays between 30% and 40% of their income for rent, and the rest is paid by the Federal Government through the Village of Ossining Section 8 Program.

What Type of Housing Qualifies

Any existing rental housing unit such as apartments, co-ops, condominiums and houses can be eligible for the program. This means you could remain in your present dwelling unit, or you may move to another unit. For the dwelling unit to be approved, it must be found to be in safe and sanitary condition by the Village of Ossining Building department, and the rent for the unit must be considered reasonable in comparison to apartments NOT on the Section 8 Program.

Village of Ossining Payment Standards

Payment standards are the maximum subsidies the program will allow the participant based on the number of family members and the size of the apartment as of 1/1/2011.
