What is a staycation?  It’s a vacation in which vacationers (or staycationers) stay local or at home instead of traveling.  Staycations are a great solution for those who are short on time or cash or simply not enamored with the thought of travel hassles and delays.   Join us for an event tonight, Friday, June 6th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Ossining Public Library, 53 Croton Avenue.  This summer with the price of gas and the high cost of just about everything, you may not want to travel far from Ossining for a vacation.  So, the Village Board with the help of the Police, Parks & Recreation, Library, Schools, and Safety Net Organizations want to spend some time sharing with residents some of the activities available right here in Ossining.  From concerts, family entertainment, fairs, swimming and the like, you and your family will be able to have a blast all summer.  Do you want to know some of the things your kids can do to help them with their next school year?  The schools will have a booth to let you know.  Our library will also be conducting various programs this summer to teach and entertain.  For our residents who enjoy outdoor activities, the Ossining Community Sailing Club, the Ossining Boat and Canoe Club, and Adult Soccer program are just a few of the groups that will be exhibiting at this seminar and there will be tables with tons of information about gardening, composting and the like.  Summer will be here before you know it, so mark your calendar now and join us on June 6th to start the summer off with a bang!
