The Village of Ossining hosted the Westchester County CDBG day on March 27th in celebration of National Community Development Week (March 24 – March 30th.)  This program is celebrating 32 years of awarding Community Development Block Grants.  The event provided an opportunity to honor all Westchester Urban County Consortium members and non-for-profit recipients of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding who contribute to making the CDBG program a success.  In Ossining many of our public improvements and updates or improvements to our parks and recreation programs were made possible through a partnership of the municipality and the CDBG program.  Through the years the Ossining community has been fortunate enough to receive over $10 million in grants which were awarded to the Village and Town of Ossining, their residents and not-for-profit organizations.

During this event the County Planning Department and the Urban County Consortium took the opportunity to honor Rick Herbeck, former Village Manager of Croton-on-Hudson, for his many years of service to the Urban County Consortium.
