Public Meeting to View Sing Sing Prison Museum to be held May 17th

County, Town and Village Collaborating with State and Federal Agencies

(May 9, 2006)  The Village and Town of Ossining invite all interested persons to a public meeting to view the Sing Sing Museum proposal on Wednesday May 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center, 95 Broadway, Ossining.  Tracy Corbitt, Planner from Westchester County, will give the presentation, which describes the proposed project and details the anticipated benefits to the municipalities and the Hudson Valley Region.

Village staff and members of the Friends of Sing Sing Museum committee, chaired by Trustee Bill Hanauer, will also be on hand to answer questions.  Westchester County and the Village and Town of Ossining have been in contact with several State and Federal agencies to form a widespread collaboration to work together to accomplish this project.

Mr. Hanauer and Ms. Corbitt are also featured discussing the Sing Sing Museum project on Ossining News and Views, a public access show airing on GO-TV Channel 78 and Cablevision Public Access Station 15 during the next four weeks.

Members of the public and the press are most cordially invited to attend the May 17th meeting to learn about the proposed Sing Sing Museum and to share their views.
