Momentum Theatre Troupe presents Shakespeare’s A Tempest on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Louis Engel Waterfront Park. The performance will be held on a truck that transforms into a stage. Momentum Theatre Troupe and their mobile theatre--a one-of-a-kind converted truck that opens into a multi-level jungle gym of a stage—are performing free, family-friendly outdoor theater as guests of the Ossining Recreation Department. On the playbill for the evening is Shakespeare's A Tempest, a story of monsters and magic, revenge and redemption, power and love, as well as two short plays: Eugene Ionesco's absurdist comedy The Leader, and an adaptation of the surreal nightmare-scape of Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky. Momentum is dedicated to bringing bold, innovative theatre to as diverse an audience as possible with our traveling stage truck and internationally trained ensemble of teaching theatre professionals. Artistic Director Sean Eastman's desire to bring theater to the people led him to design and build the theatre truck in 2007. Drawing from the same roots as traveling performers throughout history, from the circuses and sideshows of the 1800's to the Commedia dell'Arte performers of Shakespeare's day, Momentum Theatre Troupe brings theater to the people; transforming an ordinary-looking truck into a full Shakespearean stage in thirty minutes flat. Momentum's 2010 Summer Tour runs from June 7 - August 5 and includes performances throughout New England and the Midwest. Performance brought to you by the Ossining Recreation Department. For more information, visit www.theatretruck.com, e-mail email@example.com Admission free! Donations encouraged.

Calling all Singers! This is an open invitation for all voice parts to join Taconic Opera’s chorus for our October 15, 16 & 17 performances of Puccini's Tosca! This will be a FULLY STAGED PRODUCTION with full orchestra and sets/costumes, in Italian with English supertitles above the stage. All lead singers and orchestra members are experienced professionals. Performances will be at the Yorktown Stage in Yorktown, on October 15-16 at 8:00 pm, and an October 17 matinee at 2:00 pm.
There is NO MEMBERSHIP FEE to join the company, but all singers will be required to supply their own scores and help put together their costumes. If you don’t have a score, a copy of the choral sections of the opera will be provided.
Tosca is a less demanding opera on the chorus, so it is an excellent starter opera for you if you have never done this type of performance before. Music rehearsals will begin on Wed, August 4, 7:00-9:00 pm, and continue with rehearsals every Saturday 3:00-5:00 and Wednesdays 7:00-9:00. Once staging rehearsals begin around Sept 11, the schedule will fluctuate a little according to the availability of our lead singers, however, we try to keep the Wed/Sat calendar for the chorus as much as possible.

The Lady With All The Answers, A delightful play about Ann Landers by David Rambo, Starring Carol Eagen Directed by Michael Muldoon. "The Lady With All the Answers" performed by M&M Productions Acting Company, Inc. at the Ossining Public Library on Thursday, October 14th at 7:30 p.m. in the Budarz Theater. "Dear Ann Landers"…For decades, renowned advice columnist Ann Landers answered countless letters from lovelorn teens, confused couples and a multitude of others in need of advice. No topic was off-limits, including nude housekeeping, sex in a motorcycle helmet, the proper way to hang toilet paper, sibling rivalries, addiction and wandering spouses. Landers regaled her readers with direct, insightful and often humorously honest responses. Late on a 1975 night in Landers' Chicago apartment, an ironic twist of events confronts her with a looming deadline for a column dealing with a new kind of heartbreak: her own. As she shares her struggles to complete the column with us, we learn as much about ourselves as we do about the wise, funny, no-nonsense woman whose daily dialogue with America helped shape the social and sexual landscapes of the last half-century. Directed by Michael Muldoon, Carol Eagen will portray the delightful Ann Landers. For more information contact Melinda O’Brien at 914.962.3431 or MMLibraryTheatre@hotmail.com.
